I thought some of you would like this.
I inherited my Grandfathers 1946 Remington Targetmaster all beat to hell
my Mom said she and Grandpa used it to hunt rabbits when she was a young girl back on the farm in Nebraska. Well I moved her to Palm Springs this year
and she brought this with and passed it on to me. Like I said poor condition at best Bore looks exelent they dont make things like they used to.
I found a new stock fit it and bedded the acton and floated the barrel and installed a piece of rail for a bipod mount. Had scope mounts installed then bought a Pronghorn 3x9 scope for it. Refinished the barrel and action and stained the stock in black. Did all this with my 8yr old helping and asking a million questions. Finished up a little bit ago only thing left is to install bout its still drying.
Handed the rifle to him and said its yours as long as you give it to your son and tall him all the stories that will come with it. Im a proud Dad and have a great son he didnt expect me to give this to him and is so grateful to receive it.
