After buying a new markIII I took a friends advise and bought The Ultimate Clip Loader. I have watched the videos and read the instructions but this thing is givving me fits. It will load 1 or 2 then I have to shake it or jiggle the magazine back and forth. I can load the mags faster by hand. Does anyone have a helpful trick to make this device into its namesake

Have you adjusted the screw at the bottom to fit your magazines? If it's too far out, you can have problems with the feedlips getting far enough into the loader where it actually puts the rounds in there. After buying a new markIII I took a friends advise and bought The Ultimate Clip Loader. You have to hold it at the proper angle. Jiggling the whole assembly a little bit seems to help. Another piece of advice is to try multiple mags. I've got 4 or 5 Mk3 mags and the Cliploader works well with 3 of them and poorly with the other 2.
I recently picked up a Stoeger Luger and was very happy to see that the cliploader fit it. I've used it for the Mk3 and the Luger. I've also taken a dremel to a Beretta Neos mag and used the cliploader on that but it is slower and the Neos is less fun to shoot than the Ruger.Comment

I don't have the cliploader but since I did this Mag mod I have not had any FTE's. I even have a VQ extractor still in the package but I won't install it until it becomes an issue.

The mag mod is needed for a surprisingly high number of MKII-III's but it does not solve any failure to extract issues, it solves failure to feed issues.Comment

Keep your cliploader clean, avoid the waxy ammo, shoot a little silicone lube in, fiddle with the adjustment screw, look at the "Level" line embossed on it. Bounce it on the table a little bit.
Once you get to the sweet spot the mag will fill up in about 3 seconds.
You got to mess with it. The printed instructions are useful too.
And yes you can fiddle with the tension hex bolt, but not too much. Mostly the adjustment screw on the bottom.Better Way to Search CalGuns - https://www.google.com/cse/home?cx=0...78:pzxbzjzh1zk

Tear down your mag and use the empty shell or hold the follower down until your thumb hurts. If you can drop ammo in without it hanging up, groovy.
If not, apply a little judicial dremel or fine file work. The spring tension will hold rounds in place against the feed lips, you just want to make it easy to get them in. Look at the pictures in the above link and go slowly.
(I can push most of my mag bodies into my cliploader and have ammo just pour through. I still have a couple that need a little work.....)It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.Comment
