Colt / Umarex 22LR Complete Disassembly Video

I had my Colt / Umarex M4 for just over a year now. It shoots great, but that 22 ammo gets it dirty quick. So, I decided to figure out how to take it completely apart for a proper cleaning. It was not very hard.

I also decided to make a video of it. There was a video I saw on YouTube, but it was crappy and did not show much detail. I tried to make mine good quality and easy to follow.

Take a look at the link below and tell me what you think. -Steve

Steve, You did a great job - much better than the factory video! I tore down my trigger group for cleaning last night and ran into a few problems. I hope you consider doing a video on that assembly sometime in the future. There are many opinions on lubing the action of these guns and I've tried several. I've tried lightly oiling the bolt, and I've also tried CLP on it. First I thought more oil helped, but now feel that it just attracts more of the firing grit and causes increased wear and the need for more frequent cleanings. Not a big deal, but you had a slight error on terminology regarding the ejector. Thanks for doing a great job on these videos, and I would sure like to hear your input on lubrication. - Bob

          Steve,

Thank you for sharing and nice work on the video. This gives me enough confidence to take mine apart and clean all that gunk out that I couldn't get out.

          Thx!

Great Job! Better than most factory videos. I'll try it this weekend.

I picked up my Colt M4 .22 back in December 2012 and was so happy that I stumbled across your videos.
Also, you where right about that darn springs flying out like no tomorrow. I spent 20 minutes looking for a part that shot across my garage while I was breaking her down.
I would love to see a video about the lower take down in case I ever have a problem.

Keep up the good work and may your aim be steady and true.

Look up" brassburnz " in the search engine for his posts, he has one on the 2nd page 1/2 way down entitled "Umarex/Walther/Colt M4 Trigger-Updated pics!" it helped me alot with my trigger job.
