It'd be cool to see Big 5's Numbers

I wish someone would (I know they won't) publish Big 5's sales report this week. Offering up the S&W and the Colt for the same price. I would love to know if one is outselling the other or not?

SW M15-22 vs the Colt M4 Carbine $469.99. Didn't they have these for $399.99 not that long ago? Or are these different versions/models with greater features?

I believe they had the M&P15-22 and Colt M16 style rifle for $399. Cheapest I've seen the M4 style is what you listed at $469.

Just out of curiosity, what makes it feel more like an AR than the S&W?

I've handled both, and for me at least, the lack of functional controls and / or controls that function differently on the Colt were a big drawback, as is the inability to replace parts with milspec, and the different takedown setup.

The S&W matches reality on all of those points.

The only function controls that differ is the lack of the bolt catch and the 180 safety vs 90 as standard AR's which I got used to. That being said, I have 11k through the barrel now and still functions flawless.

What standard 223/556 AR milspec parts have you used on your M&P15-22 besides external cosmetics?

The S&W 15-22 accepts standard AR trigger kits like the JP Ent. Yellow spring kit, making the rifle much more fun. For a mere 10 dollar kit. Great in my opinion over the rock hard colt trigger. Bill Springfields trigger job is great though for the colt, but that's another 40-50 bucks.

This is pretty much what everything boils down to, so far as I can tell. Myself, I like the polymer: I can lean it up against the wall and not worry about it cracking in half when it falls onto the carpet.
