10/22 scope

So I have an older BSA on my 10/22 (it was on this one when I got it) and for whatever reason at 30 feet away (the farthest I can shoot in my backyard) I cant for the life of me get this rifle closer then about 4 inches above point of aim. It doesn't seem like this scope is adjusting fully up (if I remember correctly). So I'm in the market for something else. What do you guys recommend that's not a million bucks. Say under $400.00.

I highly recommend the Leupold 2x7 rimfire scope. I have two. One on a 10/22 and the other on a Marlin 39A. Both have been top notch. They are easy to zero and have great quality optics in addition to a great Leupold warranty. With the proper scope ring height, you should be able to zero at 30ft. if that is what you want. At 30ft. however, your iron sights should work just fine.

Yeah there's no irons on this little guy. I may have to just get one og my Winchester 190s out for backyard target practice.

I need to get out and see how it will do at 50 yards. It seems like the elevation doesnt want to move for half of the adjustment range.

Mueller APV @ Joeboboutfitters.com. You won't be sorry. Great glass, customer service is one of the best in the business, lifetime transferable warranty, a lovefest for this scope on rimfirecentral. I own one and its a great scope. Get Burris Signature Zee rings in high and you are set. BSA scopes are hit and miss, mostly miss. I've owned two and neither has lasted.

+1 on the Mueller, they are great scopes. I have the APV on my 10-22s and the Eraticator on my Savage 93r17. The Zee rings are the way to go, like Izzy says, very solid, not real expensive.
As for your point of aim, you may be experiencing barrel droop, try a locking v-block or a Tac-Sol 20 degree mount.

I'm good on rings I have 2 sets of Leupold rings in different flavors. 4.5 to 14 seems a little long for a .22. Is that the right one?

LOL I guess I forgot something. This gun has a brand new Tactical Solutions barrel and the 20 MOA mount. I was almost wondering if the mount was why I'm running out of legs.

I picked up a BSA "Sweet 22" at Bass Pro shop for $150. took it to the range the other day and I was impressed. It was a huge improvement over the Barska I had on it before.

3-9 seems about right to me for a .22 thats whats on it now and it jsut feels like a good range to me. I almost wanted to go with another Bushnell elite 3200 10xbut I just dont think its the right scope for this guy.

Mueller APV is the best bang for the buck. Lots or rimfire shooters use this scope. It has good quality glass at a reasonable price and holds its zero.

4.5-14x is not too long for a .22 at all. I have a 8.5-25x on my 10/22.

The only thing I'm worried about is 4.5 at shorter distances. My local club has an indoor .22 range and I think the far line is only 50 feet. I guess 3, isn't that much longer then 4.5 though. I guess I'll have to look around and see if anyone local carries them.
