Help me decide on irons for .22LR AR

    OK,

Got my tracking number, upper is gonna be here Friday... and I'm still undecided on my rear sight. I've got the M4 LE upper with the F marked FSB on the way. I'm torn between the:

    LMT Tactical

OR a carry handle (LMT, Stag, whatever)

    So what say you?

I have no plans for optics any time soon, and I figure if I do buy nice optics they're just gonna go on a 5.56 upper anyway. So it's Nostalgia vs. Practical.

I think I would go with a Telecaster. The bolt on neck would be the strongest to deal with terrorist zombies. I know most folks will say Strat, but I think the trem system is unreliable.
I mean, who needs to dive bomb when SHTF? That only happens in movies.

LMT tactical for sure, if you ever want to mount an optic (even just a cheap PA one), it's going to be a pain with the carry handle.

I dont think you can go wrong with the carry handle, something from LMT, or a magpul MBUS.....

I like carry handles, but I think this Yankee Hill Machine rear looked nifty:

My preference is the ARMS #40 but that's only because it's on my "social purposes" rifle.

I've used LMT fixed, Daniel Defense fixed (got one of those on my lightweight 5.56), YHM flipups, all worked fine.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

If you ever decide to go optic..your gonna wish you had something small that folds outta the way.

I've done flip-ups and I wasn't a fan, that's why I was leaning towards the LMT. Same function as the carry handle, just no cool points for that classic AR look. All detachable handles are supposed to be 6/3 and adjust in half clicks right?

I use the LMT style. Actually, on my .22's I use a UTG A2 rear sight. I've never had one issue with them. I've even run one on my 5.56 piston upper.
Now if I was going to battle with it, I would get the best I could which would be the LMT.
I also use an Aimpoint on the 5.56 with a fixed rail mount front sight.
With the A2 and .22 LR, you can still figure out elevation points for different ranges. If you are just shooting 50 yards, you can get an A1 type from Daniel Defense.
