Need 10/22 advice on a barrel/stock

I have a 10/22 that I would like to put a new stock and barrel on. I am leaning towards putting a synthetic stock and bull barrel on. I am trying to do it as inexpensive as possible. ($150 range) Yea I now you get what you pay for. I was looking at the Butler Creek stock/barrel combo? Does anyone have any experience with this setup. Any other suggestions on barrels or stocks? I was also thinking of possibly doing a tactical setup. Any input on a AR style stock for a 10/22.

For a good quality 22 bull barrel try the Green Mountain Barrels

I put on a Green mountain bull barrel on a hogue stock, took it to an appleseed shoot. It's so freaking heavy... After I shot that, my AR felt like a feather...

The only amazing advantage I saw was that it doesn't heat up that quickly after firing 100+ rounds in an hour it wasn't even that hot...

Green Mountain 16.5" fluted barrels arent that heavy. They are just over $100 and super accurate. Get a factory Ruger bull barrel stock, dont get a plastic stock. They might be light but they flex too much, and they do change the point of impact. I post this picture a lot, but for good reason

As already said, Green Mountain is the way to go. They are heavy, but since your shooting from a bench it doesn't really matter. They'll keep up with any of the higher priced barrels.

The Butler Creek stock will work fine. I like the B&C stocks as well, especially from a bench.

Marlin 795 @ Big5 for $139 after rebate. Probably more accurate out of the box than those aftermarket barrels and it come from the factory with a synthetic stock.

Green Mountain are very reasonable priced for a Bentz chamber and along with free floating/bedding shoot very very tight groups. Ruger stock barrels are mistakenly overlooked as being very accurate. You could disguard the barrel band, watch a few YouTube vids, spend 8.00 in JB Weld, shoe polish, sand paper to free float and bed your stock to achieve superb accuracy.

Hmm not to sure about that but hey you never know. I bought a discount .22 (Savage) and was not very impressed. It has never failed to fire or eject and the barrel is free floated, but I hate that skinny synthetic stock feel. The trigger was so heavy that it completely ruins any sort of bench shooting with it. The Marlin could be better for all I know but I group the two in the same category.

Yea people do overlook them. I am honestly very very happy with the stock barrel but I have some extra cash and I have always wanted to "customize" my 10/22. My stock barrel will shoot dime size at 25 yards (on a good day) and not much bigger at 50. 100 yards is a whole different story. I don't know if I need a better scope or a new barrel or what but 100 is more like 1-2 feet.
