    rimfire Legality

    Hey guys,

    i have done a search with no luck and wanted to double check on a legal issue.
    I have a ruger 10/22 and have had this gun for a while and also have some pre ban 25rd mags. If I decided to swap stocks for one of those tapco or other stocks with pistol grip would I then need a mag lock? or because of .22 round it the rifle exempt from such legal issues?

      NO problem as long as you do not go below an OAL of 26". But, I really think you need to study the AW flow charts a bit before doing anything. One of the first things you'll notice is that rimfire RIFLES (not handguns) are exempt from Ca Aw laws.

              I have the Tapco t6 on my 10/22, and it is fun. It does nothing really for accuracy, but is a fun and cheap mod. Plus I have found at the range it gets a bunch of questions. Great way to start up conversations with other shooters.
