    Just purchased MP 15-22!

    Hi everybody,

After going to a gun show last week and seeing the MP 15-22 I saw they were on sale at Big 5 so I went and ordered one today. I have a 10-22 but I got fed up with the feeding problems from after-market magazines so it's been a real long time since I've done any shooting.

Any tips on the MP-22? Ammo recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

How much did you paid for it? If you don't mind me asking...in the market for one myself, possibly.

I have shot multiple thousands of the Federal bulks through mine over the past year. No problems to speak of. A couple FTFs, likely the ammo.

You will be happy. Oh... and get a Red Dot too!

Sean, welcome to the family! You will have lots of fun with your 15-22. I've had good results with CCI AR tactical. It's copper plated round nose .40 grain it was designed for our S&W. I have shot 1 box of 375 in my first trip to the range. I will shoot maybe 1 or 2 more boxes then try other ammo. CCI Blazer & Federal. You'll be fine if you don't run remmington crap. Oh & pick up more magazines. 44mag.com has them for $15.99 each

I've shot over 2000 rds through mine. I've used Fed bulk, CCI AR tactical, and Blazer ammo. No problems
Except a few with Fed bulk.

Took a Carbine course last month and shot 900 rds with no failures at all.

I love my 15-22, almost 3000 rounds through it and only one FTF which was ammo related. Mine likes CCI blazer.

Is it true that all mp 15-22 and colt m4 22 magazines are interchangeable?

I've had perfect results with Federal bulk value packs, and with CCI Blazer bulk value packs. Same with CCI Mini Mags, but they cost a lot more so I'd rather use the Blazer or Federal ammo.

My advice is to get more mags for it, so you spend less time reloading and more time shooting.

Wow! Thanks for all the ammo advice! I've got a few boxes of remingtons so I'll probably try that once I pick up my 15-22 in 10 days.

I'm already looking into a red dot sight and getting the barrel threaded for a compensator.

                            Cant wait!

Great value. I have been using their MultiReticle one for a few months now with a cantliever mount and have zero problems excellent groupings at 25 and 50yards. They have very good customer service and quick shipping too.
