HK-91 in .22

Is an HK-91/G3 with a .22 conversion legal in CA? Or since it's a removable conversion, is it still banned?

It's the gun that's banned. If you have a registered Assault Weapon, or one of the OLL clones of the 91 (like that PTR whatever) you can use the conversion IN it, but an HK91 and some of its clones are banned by name.
