I tried a ruger Mark series (not a 22/45), I think it was Mark 1 or 2 at the range today...not bad... it had a 4" barrel, and was pretty accurate to 10-15 yards... not as good down at 20 yards. Couldn't match my tacsol tricked out buckmark, but not bad at all and it feels way more solid than my buckmark with its every loosening screws that defeat blue locktite with no problem. I might have to buy a ruger one of these days in a 5 or longer barrel! Or..just buy a cheap one and tacsol it.

Which Ruger did you shoot? A 4 foot barrel would be poorly balanced?

I shoot my cheapy Ruger 22/45 out at 100+yds at Angeles no problem. Then when I'm done I dump drips of Hoppes 9 down the throat of the barrel and chamber.Comment

Those Ruger mark I and II are great guns! My dad's got one of each, and the mk I doesn't function as well as the II, but they're both incredibly accurate. They should easily be making quarter sized targets at 20 yards, not be noticeably inaccurate.
Lol my dad swears by them, but then he swears at them when he has to disassemble and reassemble for deep cleaning.

No, since they are the "firearm" they are an off-list handgun. You could probably do a single shot FFL though... frames are pretty cheap if you scour the internet.Comment
