Cheap ones seem to have a small field of view. Check them out before buying one.

i prefer the bushnell banner dusk/dawn 4-12x40 for my rimfires. I have three of those, and 1 mueller APV. All are good with adjustable objective.

I got one of the Wal Mart Centerpoint 4-16 models, threw it on my 10/22, with Weaver see through mounts. Works great, love it.

I just finished putting a CenterPoint 4-16x40mm Scope on my new 10/22 Tactical.
                purchased from my local WALMART.
The rifle is for my 10 year old nephew. Bought a a budget scope for him try mil-dots.
CenterPoint 4-16x40mm got good reviews in rimfire forums.

I know this sounds stupid, but remove your mounts from the scope and swap them out front to back and left to right hand side (opposite from how you have them now). I had a cheap set of mounts on my Simmons and had your same problem on my 10/22. I swaped them and then I could sight it in. I knew the scope was good because I had taken it off my Marlin so I figured it was the mounts, it was. Good luck!

Thats the same scope I have. It was a pita to get sighted in but its right on the money now. I had a friend of mine sight it in. So it could just have been me.

Just to clarify, there are different models of plinkers. I have 3-9 X32. I got mine from midway for I believe $45. Its a solid piece. I personally fail to see the point of going beyond 9x magnification on a .22.
