colt m4/m16 mag gravity drop solution

basically, i filed down areas of the mag that was having some resistance. it was a trial and error type of thing. insert the mag multiple times, release it, insert, release.... and u will see areas that has scratch marks from all the rubbing. then, just scrape or file it down... until u get a smooth release. i used a S&W folding knife to scrape/shave the areas. u can use sand paper if u want, i just didnt have any. i did most of the filing on pic2 and pic3.

hmmm maybe, but last time out I had the opposite problem. Needed to give the mag a firm tap on the bottom (it enjoys it) to get it seated. I would be weary about filing stuff down. you dont want to have mags that drop unintended.

ya, in understand wut ur sayin. thats why u have to be a bit carefull not to get carried away on filing/shaving it down. i took me a good 20-30 mins shaving it little by little, tried it, shave, tried it... until i got it to drop drop down. and i also checked by pulling on the mag while its in loaded in, and its there tight. worst comes to worst, u mess up, its jus the mag, can be replaced easy... atleast its not the gun that gets ruined.

when i purchased the 20/10 mags they were much, much easier to take off. i notice that the rectangle part on the side of the mag is a lot thinner (the third picture you posted)
