    Marlin 925 trigger mod

Thanks to rimfirecentral guys, I reduced the trigger pull on my rifle by replacing the trigger spring with the one from a pen similar to this:

Trigger pull is now much better than before.

      a. Remove two bolts from the stock.
      b. Remove tiny "c" from the pin that holds the trigger. Careful not to drop it, it's hard to find.
      c. Remove original spring.
      d. Install replacement spring.
      e. Position trigger and slide the safety lever as necessary so it clears the trigger pin.
      f. Re-install pin and clip.
      g. Re-assemble stock and barrel assy.

Estimate time: 10 minutes or less. Well, longer if you dropped the tiny clip.

if your gun is older than the early 1990s you will need a spring from a bic lighter. it comes from under the flint. the older springs are about half the diameter of the newer ones. it fits the same way as the pen springs tho. my Glenfield 25 had a pull weight of 7lbs. after the spring change, 2.5lbs. easy as changing a spring. Here's another thread from RFC that I got involved with last week----but I haven't quite made it over to Office Depot yet.....

Replaced the trigger spring and polished the sear on my 25N and went from a 5lb pull to just under a 2lb pull. Easy as pie!! Thanks for the info guys.:bthumb:

According to some discussion at rfc, this may be also done to other marlins, so it's not only applicable to 925's.

Yup, it works on 925's, 795's and I think a few of their close cousins. I'm gonna hold off doing both of mine 'till after I get some lead sent down the pipe with the girls and see if I really need it......

as far as I can tell it works on all marlin bolt action rimfires. DR
