Neos vs S&W 22A

This thread is now S&W 22A vs Sig Mosquito.


In light of Turners spring flyer. How do these compare? Just these two. Not interested in the Rugers as I bought something of their make no too long ago.

I don't know anything about the 22A, but I have read they shoot well, bet feel really cheap. I do own a Neos. It has been trouble free through many, many rounds, and is very accurate. I am very happy with it.

22A are awesome, smooth light trigger, evenly weighted out and feel excellent. I have a BBL and it's got good heft to it. The mag release is in the middle of where your fingers wrap around and gets time to get use to on speed reloads. It doesn't like Wild Cats, Remington Gold, and cheap HP ammo which seem to jam in the mag.

I have a Neos and it's 100% reliable with any ammo and super accurate. I have a red dot on it as well. There's a little picture of it in my sig.

SW22A is a good beginner pistol to plinking with and the accuracy is pretty good as well. Remind me of the High standard setup. The only thing is the early frame experiencing crack frame. I beleive that the issues had been resolved by SW.

So my Neos is now unsafe according to California, yeah that makes sense. Oh well, I still really like it and find it completely reliable.

The 22A is more of a target pistol, the mosquito is more of the "little brother" to my P226,

Lately, I have been shooting the mosquito a lot more. Both are fun guns. The 22A will shoot anything, the mosquito is happiest on CCI minimags, and runs those with good reliability. If you get a mosquito, you may want to smooth out the friction points a little with 600-800 grit sandpaper. That avoids the whole "break in" period nonsense.

My mosquito has always shot cci's with no problem. I never had any luck with the walmart brand federal 550 box. I ordered the federal blue box from dunn's and never had problems except for ocassional fte's.

I have had a 22A for about a year. 1000s of round thru it and not one jam, fte, ftf on any ammo that I have used which includes Win 333, Federal Bulk, American Eagle 38 and 40 gr, Blazers, Federal Automatch, CCI mini-mags and Centurion 40gr. Easy to break down, clean and reassemble. More accurate than I am. I keep the action clean which probably helps avoid any problems.
