ruger 10/22 need help

how do you guys clean the bore of your 10/22 . my otis cable wont work. I know a bore snake will work never used one

If you are wanting to clean it without taking the stock off.. only option is the boresnake.

I just use a rod with a patch with your solvent of choice. Let it sit for a bit. Then i will run a patch with oil and then a few dry one until it is dry. Repeat process if needed.

not necessarily. you can do the cleaning rod but just make sure to protect the crown. and just use the bolt hold to lock the bolt back so the patches can fall into the magwell area.

ok got a bore snake pulled through kinda tight do you guys put solvent and oil on it

Patches, jags, bronze brushes and cleaning rod. Or the snake. It's no secret nor is it an infant (though you really really might be attached to it. To repeat good advice, protect the muzzle. Also protect the bolt face.

I always strip the gun when I clean.

As expensive as it is, I love the spray cleaners for AFTER I scrub with Hoppes. I use my air compressor nozzle to get the juice trapped in the trigger group, and I use it as the last pass down the bore before oiling. The spray just rips stuff out great, but is expensive.

Gunscrubber, then CLP the lot w/ a boresnake for the barrel, blow dryer/compressed air, and a wipe down.

I almost never clean my 10/22 barrel. When I do its usually been shot 2500 rounds and I just wipe a Bore Snake through once or maybe twice.
