Took the H&K for its second shootout...

I can think of a thousand reasons NOT to go to a shooting range, the most pressing; the dogs gotta go for a long haul run...

And so we did by this trail in blm lands in the socal desert. We had the whole place to ourselves, not a soul for as far as the eye can see...

This is the second tour of my H&K 416~22lr. New replacement for my Colt M4~22lr, a great rifle in its own right.

CCI came out with a bulk copper plated round nose ammo for AR type tactical rimfire. I have used minimags hp before, the new bulk ammo was a bit cheaper...

The rifle performed flawlessly with the minimags HP, putting through it 700 rounds the first time. I was just curious to see how it will handle the bulk copper plated round nose, a dedicated ammo for this rifle.

    To be continued later...

    Part II

Right before I finished the bulk box, I had my first and only jam. Not bad considering that I have thus far fired a little over 1000 rounds.

I think the bulk ammo is really high quality and very accurate; however, being loose in a big bulk box, there was a lot of wax and other dirt depris mixed in with the ammo. Ultimately, that dirt will end up in your mag, mag lip or the receiver part, and may have caused the jamming problem.

The quality of manufacturing and attention to details with this rifle are impressive! So far I'm thoroughly pleased with my decision to get the H&K...

Plus it looks like one mean and nasty anti-aircraft gun ...lol...lol...

Had lots of fun, I even used up my CCI HP, and will save those cool clean boxes so I can reuse them with the bulk copper plated round nose. This way the ammo will stay clean and get rid of the wax depris.

    My target composition...

BTW, lots of small clay rock that is a blast to shoot at... in case you run out of paper targets...

Cool. So the CCI tactical ammo isn't a total gimmick. It's basically Blazer type bulk but copper washed? Not that I put much stock in copper wash but if it's 500 rds $20 or less, I can stand to see more options in bulk. Yes your rifle reminds my of the movie Snatch when Vincent pulls out the Spas military shotgun

Are the knee pads for tactical poop-scooping? JK
How is the lockup on that HK stock? I like the way it looks, just curious if it's wobbly at all. Thanks for the write-up, I've been on the fence on these for a little while - still am, but this helps!

Also, I didn't know that CCI AR Tactical ammo existed, that's some good info as well, I'll have to try it in my dedicated AR upper.

Wish it was 500 for $20! You get a bulk box of 375 for $24.99. Turner's Outdoorsmen price.

It is a collapsible stock with five different positions, locks nice and tight just like the real deal 416D. The whole gun has a real nice feel to it, you can tell its quality materials... check one out at Turner's Outdoorsmen, you'll like what you see and feel....

AR tactical ammo do the job well...wish they did not come in a bulk box...but price talks eh?

            ... 2shey on the knee pads...lol...

Weapon looks on point! I ordered a scope for mine and will be going out to the range next weekend with some buddies to show her off. I might pick some of the CCI AR Tactical and try them out!
