Putting a sling on a 10/22

I'd like to put a military web style sling on my 10/22 and was wondering what would be a good way to go about doing that. I don't have a ton in the way of tools, so the easier the better. So any suggestions?

The uncle mikes studs and swivles work good. You just drill a hole and screw it in.

Yup Uncle Mikes is the way. Make sure you get the 1 1/4 in version for the web sling

Best way to do it.

Rear stud should be up 2" from the heel/butt. Front should be atleast1/2" beind the bbl band, preferably 3/4" back. Drill straight, be patient.

Most Tactical shooters use a single point sling (1) point of connection. For a cheap/excellent retention by a (2) 1" straps from WalMart in the camping section. Basicly fasten 1 sling around the middle butt of the stock, while the other is used aka mailman style. When finished it should look like an upside down "T" when worn. If you add quick disconnects it'll look like the letter Y. Here is a random pic that semi represents what I'm talking about.

For mine I used the kit that comes with a machine screw, but I don't see the advantage. It was just more hassle.
