    Please help. I lost my Barrel Band for 10/22

    If anyone has one that is not being used, let me know

    You don't need it. The best thing to do is free float the barrel 2 business cards thick, then bed the first 2 1/2" of the chamber end of the barrel and rear part of the receiver with JB weld or a similar epoxy. Also a pillar post for where the receiver to stock screw goes would be a great addition. The whole operation would cost about 10.00 and it'll improve your barrels accuracy by a lot even with the stock tapered barrel.

      Or just buy a different stock. The ati draganov is super cheap and needs no band. The only stock with the band is the ruger stock. The ATI stock is under $40

                I want to get rid of mine, anybody know where I can find a good tutorial on the process of cutting, bedding and all that stuff?

                      We simply take it off and trash it. It provides no improvement to accuracy, and if you hook a sling to it your accuracy goes nuts.... You lost yours, congratulations, that is a step towards improved accuracy. No further action required.

                        I think that so many people have theirs to offer up is probably a sign that you don't really need to bother with one
