Just got an email from Kel Tec...

As the title says, I emailed Kel Tec regarding the PMR 30 and if they had plans to release it in CA. They said that currently they do not have a 10 round mag nor does any aftermarket company make one for it and until then they will not be allowed into CA. Does anyone know how to manufacture aftermarket 10 rd mags for the PMR 30? I just dont understand why they havent done this yet. They'd have it paid in full by me for sure.

It's always been my experience that Kel Tec isn't very interested in altering their firearms for marketing directly to CA. They prefer to let others do it for them. The problem is you can't get one if it's not altered and you can't alter it until you get it. It's a vicious cycle. Someone will make one eventually. I hope.

Has anyone checked out Excel Arms? They are based in Chino, CA and make the Accelerator pistol, an impressive ~8" bull barreled .22 mag. and the Accelerator Rifle also .22 mag. Both impressive looking offerings.

It's not just a matter of blocking the mag for 10 rounds. I saw no reference to a magazine cutoff or loaded chamber indicator so the thing could never pass California testing to make it to the roster. You're best bet would be the single shot exemption but even that would involve a modified mag, mag release and custom barrel.

would it be called the PMR-10 since it no longer hold 30 rounds.

I have a pmr-30 in az. Got it last week. It's like the sickest 22 mag handgun. When I go back home next week I'll look at the mags and see if it looks hard to block. I'm assuming the best way is to stick a block in it and seal it shut.

Unless you are exempt from the roster, you still can't get it into CA.

Can't DROS a stripped receiver as a handgun.

It would have to ship to an 07 willing and able to make it roster-exempt via dimensionally-compliant single shot.
That 07 would also have to have a high-cap permit to import the magazine(s).

I'm thinking he "accidentally" won a magazine ... How do you accidentally win a firearm on GB... possible but not plausible...

Yes, put a bid on two and won both. Extra PMR is already spoken for so no worries.
