Well in terms of the lifetime ban on firearms the ATF states

No, as long as the pardon, expungement, or restoration does not expressly provide that the person may not ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms.

So I think that means, as long as I get it expunged I can posses a firearm at the age of 30 so long as the expungment does not specifically state that I can not own a firearm.

This might be true for some convictions but I am unsure how it will go with a DV conviction.

i dont know for sure but a real good friend did a similar mistake and did the mental extended stay and is able to buy guns. he is currently 28yrs old and i think he first bought at 22yrs old. i do know his juvenile records were sealed because we joke that we both had to seal ours.

Well I really hope I am LEGALLY able to own a firearm, because with the way this world is going, It's a necessity.
