model 60c... want to attach a bipod, need to drill hole for screw, even if i trim the screw sure doesnt seem like much wood left to hold after counter sinking and every
thing?

You might need to inlet or make room for a small steel disc or plate then use a machine screw. Drill and tap for 10x32tpi.
