trying to find Marlin 39A!!!!

I'm sure this may be an issue for a few people. Anyways I have been meaning to buy a 39a for a long time, and now I know I have waited too long! Seems they are almost out of production for the time being, only very few being made currently. I have called around and been to a few of my local bay area gun stores and it seems most stores already have a waiting list for them and won't take more on the list.

I am just hoping that maybe by a great stroke of luck, someone on here has seen one on a shelf some where and would be willing to help a guy out lol. Even if it was a drive to get there, I'd be willing.

Thanks wc, Oxnard is kind of far, even for me. I'm in the north bay. I'm hoping to not have to do a transfer because that will likely be a big pain in the butt lol.

The Marlin web site has them listed with a link to Davidson's (distributor), and there they are listed as allocated. When Marlin does get around to making some they will probably go fast. I see used ones in good condition at gun shows several times a year, that might be the way to go. On the other hand since I deal mostly with one dealer, and give him steady business he has been good about getting allocated guns for me.

I bought ours online from Bud's Gun Shop a year ago or so and it was tough trying to locate one at that time (locally and online)

If Shooter's Paradise in Oxnard has one in stock, I suggest you go grab it as quickly as possible. With Marlin now being part of Remington, it's hard to tell if the Golden 39A will continue to be made

what would be my best bet? put down a deposit and get in line? (the guy in front of me has been waiting 6 months) Or wait for the shows to come around and look for a used one? I wouldn't mind buying a used one if it was in really good shape. What are things to look out for when buying a used one from a show, naturally I assume not to believe everything the salesman says. What are red flags to stay away from with this gun?

Check out gunbroker and rimfirecentral. I picked mine up from Rimefirecentral.com about 2 years ago from a guy in Texas who bought it for his wife. She didn't like it. He said only 30 rounds down the pipe. Looked brand new to me and the lever was still really stiff. He only wanted $400.00 for it. Best gun purchase I ever made.

Well credit is due to WC12, I just bought the gun today over the phone, having it shipped to an FFL up here. Ended up being a much more expensive gun than I anticipated but oh well.
