Winchester Model 1906: Best .22 rifle ever?

I just picked up my second '06 and it reminded me of how much I love these guns. This one was from near the end of the production run, around '35 to '37, so the rear sight is different from what I'm used to (The earlier models had nearly a "u" shaped opening in the rear sight, this one is vertical and just about the width of the front sight.) but everything else is the same.

Every one I've shot was a straight shooter. I love the small size and breakdown ability so you can easily fit it into a pack. And although it's the only pump action rifle I've shot, I like that feeding mechanism in this gun.

My Dad's '06, which he bought for $25 in a bar before he married my Mom and was made in 1911, was the first gun I shot, and it's always been my favorite.

    Opinions?

Ahh, don't start me on Firefly. Could have been one of the best shows ever if given a chance. It's at the top of a list of favorite shows that were cancelled way too early.

When I was young I seemed to be able to hit anything within a reasonable distance for a .22 with my Dad's 1906.

        Did someone say Firefly?

I really like the model 62 and 63.

So I can understand the 1906 addiction. Sweet rifle.
Look at the tyranny of party -- at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction...
