    Sig 552 Magazine question

    Greetings.

I'm purchasing a 522 and was wondering if my old ruger 10/22 25 rd. mags (black dog/butler creek)will be compatible.I read in a review that the Sig didn't use proprietary mags so I was hoping their wouldn't be a problem.thanks in advance.

Forgot to ask, is it even legal to use these older magaizines in a 522 considering it isn't featureless?I know rimfire excludes the bullet button requirement but I'm unsure about the large capacity mags.

No. the sig uses blackdog magazines which are used with AR conversion kits. Ruger 10/22 are proprietary but very common however will not work in a sig.

If you own them legally. Use them.

I just bought 3 blackdog 10 rounders from 44mag.com for 11.99 each plus 5 bucks for shipping and no tax. Don't know how long the price will last so I thought I pass it on.

Also if you have a Ciener magazine (new or pre-ban) you can file down the flanges near the feeding lip and it'll work on your gun. Also replace the metal Ciener follower with the newer plastic BDM follower so the bolt will hold open.

black dog magz fit & function well in sigs' 522
their 10 rounder is also short. making it much better for target practice while sitting or rested, since the 26 rounders are sooooooo long.
