I never thought a decision on simplicity would be so difficult. Can the owners of these specific rifles voice the pros and cons of their rifles so I can get a better idea of what the hell I want, haha.

Sig 522, MP15-22, 10/22 target
Tags: None -
Well my 15-22 is awesome, only thing i did was have to adjust the ejector which takes about half a second. It shoots straight although my scope weighs more than the gun does. But it depends if you want an ar platform 22 or not. I like it. But I also like my old 10-22 that i never had a single problem with.Pew Pew Pew. -
The sig and MP are "cool" looking and function fine. If you want a more practical, easier to modify, easier to "accurize" .22lr, go with the one that's proven to stand up to 100s of thousands, if not millions of rounds. Get a 10-22 first then, buy the mall ninja toys.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

I have a Sig 522 and it is 100% reliable. Only malfunction is from bad ammo or possibly, too dirty from not cleaning. It works with Remington 550 bulk packs reliably, so it will shoot almost any type of ammo with no problems. Basic operations is very similar to my Sig 556. It has a little bit more weight than the MP 15, which make it feel more like a full size rifle. The Swiss folding/telesoping stock is baskically the same one off the Sig 556 and fully functional. The mags are interchangeable with many of the .22 conversion kits for full size ARs. Only draw back is that it does not come with any sights.Comment

For me price was one factor as well. I got an amazing deal on my 15-22 that put it $90 dollars less than the Sig 522. The 15-22 will by far have the most options to accessorize since it's AR based.
I don't think you can go wrong either way.Comment

i have a 10/22 and 15/22. price of a 522 vs 15/22 were about the same and i lost sleep for about a month trying to decide. the sig and sw are 2 completely different guns than a 10/22. i consider my gsg5 and 15/22 to be more like toys than serious rifles. i think if i could only have 1 of the 3, i'd go with the 10/22. just my opionComment

That's how much I paid for my Sig 522 from Tin Star Supply (CGN member yzernie). Good guy to deal with, too.
I have a tricked out 10/22, the above mentioned 522, and a TacSol dedicated AR-22. The 10/22 is probably best for the .22lr purist who wants dime-sized groups at 50 yds. out of their barely "Ruger" Kidd/VQ-ized rifle. After that, the AR-22 is probably a cool plinker you can accessorize and use like any other AR. The Sig 522 I haven't had the pleasure of shooting quite yet, but it feels like another great plinker. Options on aftermarket upgrades are the most limited, however.
If all you're doing is blasting bulk .22lr at steel silhouettes, I'd go with the ninja rifles for coolness factor and pure fun. If you're looking to shoot CCI Match, Eley, etc., then go with the 10/22.sigpicComment

I have a colt m4 rimfire. its a great 22lr rifle but I kinda like the sig522. I believe the 522 has a forged T7072(?) - (The same stuff in the highest quality ARs) receiver. I think that's pretty damn cool.Dont go against the grain if you cant handle it - Wu TangComment

Umarex Colt M4 .22lr is the only way to go. My friend has a Ruger 10/22 and prefers to use my M4 instead.

I have the S&W 15-22 and the Sig 522. They are both excellent shooters. I need to get a Ruger 10/22.Comment

my M&P 15-22 has been flawless...I love itComment

sig 522 hands down. I like metal receivers. yes there are some things that could be refined on it but I think its a better quality gun overal. I think they have a bull barrel out for the 522 as well I have both the 522 and 10/22. If you want to tinker to no end. Get a 10/22 if you want a solid reliable trainer.. 522Comment

I've got a 10/22 and an M&P 15-22. Love them both. The 10/22 definitely has the edge on price and accuracy - I've got about $100 extra in the gun for a Wal-Mart scope, a UTG bipod and Weaver rings - but the M&P is just flat out lots of fun. I've probably sunk more money into the M&P 15-22 than I have into my real AR-15: RDS w/5x magnifier, Magpul MBUS sights front and rear, Magpul MOE grip, repro SOPMOD stock. It's a hell of a fun rifle, probably the most fun I've ever had with a weapon, round for round.NRA Life Member

according to the sig website. The bull barrel was a limited run for the regular (non railed up) version. Some lucky guy on here got the Sig railed w/ the bull barrel for the price of a standard 522 railed.sig 522 hands down.
