    Need help selecting New rimfire....

    Alright fellas.

I am going to be in the market for a .22 here shortly and am not sure which route to go.

Budget is going to be about 300 before dros and tax.

I had a 10/22 before and regretted selling it. However I shot my buddies S&W22a and really like it too.

    IM TORN CALGUNNERS!

I know I would love to have a 10/22 again. Although having the 22a would be nice as well.

    My arsenal consists of a 16in AR, 20in AR, a 642 and an M&P40...

    What say you guys?

not really sure if you want a rifle or a pistol but here is my suggestion:

    cmmg 22 bolt conversion kit

    spend the rest on ammo

    or

    ruger mk, browning buckmark, 22a

Im really leaning towards the 10/22.

Like i said i really regret selling my first one. So now here is my chance to reconcile that!

I think the P22 is pretty cool. Of course I also like 10/22's. A Marlin 60 is just plain sick and it is on sale this week at Turners.

                  I really like 22's.

All great options and appreciate them all. Definitely doing a lot of research....

Now what about the Remington 597? Seems like a decent little plinker.

                      Opinions?

I do love my 10/22 it's not getting as much time as it could though since it's a bit short for me now as it's the carbine one. I could always Get a new stock and barrel and basically have a new gun. I have fired the Henry 22 lever action quite a few times and it's been a treat to shoot every time. Haven't fired a marlin model 60 but it also looks like a good pick based on the reviews I've seen. Picking any of the above and you should be set it's just the matter of having to pick.

I love my 30-year old Marlin 60. Mine has an 18-round tube and the new ones I think are 14-round. Not a lot of over all time difference in loading a Marlin 60 vs a 10/22 (except of course you can load the mags elsewhere and just feed them when needed; but you also could get a speed loader for the tube fed). Since this rifle as not needed to be loaded fast by me, I've been really happy. Plus I just like the traditional look of the Marlin, just wish mine was a year or two older (it would have had a walnut stock).
