    Ideas for my 10/22

I have had a stock 10/22 with a synthetic stock for about a year now. I rarely shoot the thing because of how time consuming and finger-paining the magazine loading process is (not to mention the lead fingers).

I'm planning on purchasing a mag loader in the near future, and would like to spice up my 10/22. That is where I need help. I need some ideas on what to do to the 10/22. I very much prefer traditional rifle stocks, as opposed to some of the "tactical" stuff out there for 10/22s.

Pictures of your 10/22s would be a plus, to see how the finished product looks. Thanks.

Sorry I don't have pics of mine yet but I just got all the parts to make a few mods to my 10/22. Kindda did the same as what your looking, I wanted to keep most of it stock but just add a scope, bipod and fix the mag release.

Don't do it, save yourself!!! Don't follow down the path of no return and get an addiction more powerfull than Crack!!! Speaking as a full fledged admitted, good clean American fun 10-22, I just want to see what this will do for accuracy and maybe my wife won't find the UPS/Fedex box today addict, you'll never return from the "dark side" and shooting innocent fly's at 50 yards will become your new past time!!

But........if your going to do it anyway, .....Shoot! Welcome aboard Brother!!!!

Hey, loving that top pic. I'd really like to do something of that nature. What did you do to it?

It's been a while so don't quote me on any of this
40mm ATV scope by Simmons. I got a couple of them at walmart on clearance for $25 each.
The stock is a Boyds' Blaster I think.
              That's a Harris bipod.
              18" fluted Green Mountain barrel.

Numerous internal parts, some aftermarket, some I did myself. I can get 5 shots through the same hole with a little luck on a good day with it at 50 yards.

It's a fantastic shooter, but it is heavy. Really only fun from a bench or prone position.

              Anything else, just ask.

And if you live in San Diego, you're welcome to shoot it any time.

Well I just built a tactical 10/22 but it got me thinking about how I'd be like to build my next 10/22. Yes I'm addicted too.

Here's my current plan, writen in pencil just in case.

Nice laminated sporter stock for .920 barrel in either brown or grey.
                Blued, fluted barrel with compensator
                bipod in the 6-9" variety
                trigger job of some sort
                nice 3-12 scope
                and 1000 rounds

Leave it alone! The 10/22 is perfect as is..... And really, a problem loading the mag?

Loading a couple hundred rounds of .22 into mags doesn't turn your thumb into hamburger?

And thanks for the responses guys.

Finally had the time yesterday afternoon to do the mods on my 10/22.

Everything looks good except for the auto bolt mod I did myself. Still not auto engaging all the way, looks like a little more filing is in order but other than that looks good.

The Butler Creek Mag Loaders work great.
