I got a phoenix HP22 and the manual says to use only standard velocity ammo. Would it be ok to use the bulk packs of ammo made by federal, winchester, or remington? I see their velocities listed at 1235fps for blazer, 1260 for federal, and 1280fps for rem gold bullet. Are these ok to use in the HP22?

Most all of the bulk pack .22LR ammo you see is high velocity and not standard velocity. Standard velocity .22LR is just over 1000 fps with a 40gr projectile. I've seen a lot of complaints about the HP22 frame cracking from guys who swear they were only using standard velocity ammo, so I'd be hesitant to use high velocity.__________________

Ok, I just wasnt sure. the only bulk pack i've seen that clearly states "high velocity" was the remington golden bullets. The CCI blazer and Federal packs just say 36gr or 40gr hollow point, copper plated. So I guess I will not use the golden bulletsComment

im not sure how much of a problem 100-150 fps in extra pressure is going to be. either way , i'd go with something like this: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/63202
at local places should be no more than 2-3 cents extra per round than bulk.Dont go against the grain if you cant handle it - Wu TangComment
