    Tubular Mag idea?

The new kel tec shotgun got me thinking, it has the capacity to hold 14+1 because it has 2 tubes. Well, .22's have a special exemption:

    (25) As used in this section, "large-capacity magazine" means any
ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10
rounds, but shall not be construed to include any of the following:
    (A) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it
cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.
    (B) A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.
    (C) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action
    firearm.

Here's my idea, why could we not either have multiple tubes on a .22 or a readily detachable/quick-change tubes on a .22? As an example: come up with a way to attach 6 14 round tubes onto a marlin 60 like a revolver.

Can someone show me where this would be illegal in the PC?

I am probably just having wishful thinking but I don't see anything that prohibits it.

    Thanks,

Yeah, I have a Spee-D-Loader for my Henry 22. You still need to take out the plunger stick when loading, but at least you can slide in a whole tube's worth of 22s.

Is there anything in the PC about the definition of "tubular" like:
      1) Do the cartiges have to be loaded end to end or can they be stacked?
      2) Does the "tube" have to be a "fixed" tube? (lol, need a tube locking device?)
      3) Does the tube have to be mounted horizontally, parallel to the barrel or can the tube be mounted vertically, perpendicular to the barrel?
      4) Does simply being cylindrical in shape qualify for the "tubular" designation?

What I imagine is a quadstack, thompson-style stick magazine with a cylindrical outer body that I can just stick right into the magwell of my Marlin 795. mmm. 200 rnds of 22lr tube-mag goodness...

Besides, if being cylindrical is the qualification for "tube" then isn't a drum just a really short tube?

I didn't know those existed, thanks.

Part of the motivation here is just to have something unique and to sidestep our BS laws here in Ca.

Thanks. I hadn't seen that one before. Just added it to my list.
