How much does your .22 weigh?

I went hunting yesterday and was really tired at the end. When I got home I weighed the rifle. 8.75lbs? I have the Ruger 10 22 race rifle with the Heavy bull barrel. I also have a scope and bipod on it as well. I didnt realize how out of shape I am. Is that too heavy?

8.75lbs held in in an unsupported aiming stance can be pretty damn taxing on the body. I have an airsoft ak-74 I weighed down to 9 lbs by cramming fishing sinkers in every possible spot. If i get too coach-potatoey, i get up try to maintain a kneeling stance rifle aimed. just hold it while im watching tv. yeah i know, weird.

No i dont think you're out of shape. but could always be in better =)

How are you carrying your rifle? If there's any type of walking around, any rifle w/o a sling is going to feel heavy.

Your rifle isn't that heavy. My hunting/plinking 22 weighs ~9lb w/ sling attached. (I don't have bipod and my rifle has a tappered barrel.)

I think my scoped single shot 40X weighs over 14 pounds.

I have a sling as well as a bipod. I was carrying on the rt shoulder, two handed, everyway possible. We went hunting at cache creek. The trail was pretty messed up with horse prints? (alot of holes). I'm thinking I'm just otta shape. Nothing the magnum lite barrel wont fix....lol
