If any of you have used the 25 rd. Black Dog mags extensively, your thumbs are probably sore from loading rounds 20 through 25 repeatedly. Either you get the plastic mag loader, or you do this simple mod (aptly dubbed "mag on a rag" over on RFC):
After disassembling your mag, you drill two holes (IIRC, I used a 1/8" bit). The first is an attachment point on the mag follower. I tried drilling as high as possible, just below the top of the U-section. Tie one end of your string in this hole.
The second hole you drill through the floorplate, in the middle of the squarish area exposed when the floorplate is in place in the mag body. After putting in the follower with string attached back into the mag body, thread the other end of the string through the floorplate slot (inside out), then through the hole you drilled in the floorplate, then back in through the floorplate slot.

Re-insert the floorplate into the mag body, making sure the side of the floorplate where the string is going out from is facing outward. It may be a tight fit with the string and floorplate in the slot, but it's doable. Re-install the mag spring and plug before pushing the floorplate all the way back in place.
Waaa-Laaaah! Mag on a rag!

I tied a key ring to mine, but you could just knot the end of your string as well. It's probably best to use a string that will withstand constant rubbing against the floorplate hole--I used Mason's line after trying a cotton string first. The cotton just frayed too quickly. A nylon string or waxed shoelace would also probably work well.
Anyways, it's an easy mod anyone can do. Should make loading those last several rounds a whole lot easier.
