Will this work for a Sig 522?

Hey, I am starting my 10 day wait on a Sig 522 tomorrow and was looking for accessories. Does this kind of bipod work for a Sig 522 if I ordered the handrail kit from Sig?

Also, what exactly do I need for BUIS? I've been looking at the Magpul MBUS iron sights specifically. I know the rear one should work, but what do I need for the front?

My suggestion is spend a little more money and buy a real "Grip pod" they are on ebay also, about $45 or $50. The chinese ones are pretty crapy, at least that's what you'll read if you do a little research.

Thanks for the search and link. For some reason I must have skipped over it because I searched for everything I could.

Also, I'm new to rifles and all, so I don't know all the technical terms and all, but could I use Magpul MBUS iron sights (quite a bit cheaper than the ones in the link) instead?

Short answer is No. First, the height of the front sight post will be different. Then you need to find a dovetail to rail adapter.

There was a guy on ebay that use to sell the dovetail adapter for the sig's. You would be able to use the Magpul with the adapter but it's been a few weeks and the guy hasn't posted. I'm waiting for him to post them so I can get a few.

I've tried the bipod that you've mentioned (not the exact brand) and it didn't work all that well. Yes it'll attach just fine but had a bad wobble to it when I'd set the sig 522 on a bench. So I went with the UTG Bipod and the UTG Foldable Foregrip a lot more sturdy and solid.

Thanks for the info Tacticalfire, I appreciate it. I'll probably grab a UTG Bipod then since they really don't cost much more. I'll keep checking ebay out for those adapters, I'll PM you if I spot any

This is a Magpul with the ebay adapter, Im happy with it. The seller does come and go on ebay and he sells all he makes.

Saw this set for 69.95, good if your 522 isn't picatinny railed.

Not bad price, but it doesn't fold down like MBUS.

Thank you sir, I'd greatly appreciate it. Yeah those UTG's aren't at all expensive and worth every penny. I've had it on for a few months now and have not had any issues whatsoever. I got mine on amazon as they were the cheapest when I looked.

I got a chance to look at this bipod a little bit more and some reviews say that it can be attached to the a sling swivel and it comes with the piece to attach it... Do you have any experience with this?

I'm just asking because I don't want to purchase a rail kit if I don't have to and I honestly only want a red dot and a bipod for the Sig 522, so no need for a rail if I can help it.

The bi-pod does come with the adapter to attach it to a sling swivel but I don't have first hand experience with it since I changed the handguard on my sig and it had the rail. The only issue I see is how you will be attaching the sling swivel adapter to the sig. The only way I could think how would be to tap the handguard and install the swivel directly to the handguard but I just don't know how solid the bi-pod will be.
