    Rossi Gallery Guns....

Anyone have or shot one of the Rossi 62 Gallery Guns?

They look like they would be lots of fun to plink around with.

Any issues to be aware of or other opinions?

A good friend of mine bought one about 20 years ago after he shot my Winchester 62A.

It's accurate and functions well. The finish is mediocre, but it's a fun rifle to shoot... and it likes CB caps!

The wife has one. She has had it for awhile maybe a few thousand rounds. The breech face on this one is a funky setup and it can wear and cause stoppages. Its like the breech is a screw in part and some ears get in the way of the rim going into battery. I clean it and touch it up with a small file. Maybe they have changed it to one piece now. The pump action makes it a fun plinker and tube fed is a reliable bonus. I think Henry just came out with a pump.

I've got one.... Loads of fun, no issues with any kind of ammunition... .22 shorts sounds like a bb gun out of it!

My buddy has one, its awesome i love it, its a tack driver it will take cb shorts, cb caps, 22 long and etc......

They are way more costly then i thought they would be like 300+ which blew me away.... but from the 3 or 4 guys i know with one, all of theres are over 20 years old now, they all love em.

I was amazed at how accurate it was and honestly would rather hunt with it than my 10/22.

Wow. I guess a nickle 62sac carbine and a blue 62sa in mint condition for less than $300 each is a good deal.

I think they're older (70's maybe?), but don't know. The serial numbers don't come up on the Rossi site.. I know that Taurus re-issued them, but these are marked 'Rossi'. Was the Taurus issued gun marked 'Rossi'?

I was thinking the carbine would be a perfect back-yard pest-eradicator with Aguila Colibri's. Anyone shoot the Colibri's with these? I guess if you pay attention and watch for a bullet impact, you'd be ok.

I use them in my 84 year old Remington Model 12 pump.

Rossi imported the 62A under these Importers. (roll mark on barrel)
                  Firearms International, Washington DC 1960's
                  Garcia Corp, Washington DC 1968-1975
                  Interarms, Alexandria Viginia 1975-1999
Wisner's Inc. is a good source for some spare parts
