    Marlin 60

Any Marlin 60 owners out there-

Restoring a Marlin 60, tube loader, serial no. 24 3xx xxx, and am missing a few parts.

It would be very helpful if somebody who has a Marlin could photograph the lockwork; I am missing the entire module.

I need a left view, right view, top view, bottom view.

There is the Numrich gun parts corp diagram, all well and good, but a photo of a real rifle would be very helpful.

    Thanks.

Here is a link to a thread on RimfireCentral where you can download a PDF with tons of pictures showing a model 60 tear-down & re-assemble.

My daughter and I put together a PowerPoint slide show on how to tear-down and re-assemble the Model 60 Action assembly. OttoMears was kind enough to create a PDF of it and BWGSTOCK was kind enough to reduce the file size. Thank you John and Bryan...

Lockwork? I am going to guess that you are missing the action assembly. If that's true you may want to go to rimfirecentral.com and see if someone has an extra one. I also needed an action assembly and looked into buying all the parts to put one together but that would have cost over $150. Found a member on RFC that had several and got one for $45 already assembled. Good Luck.

I was fixing to make the side plates and as many of the internals as possible; but thanks to a Calgunner who offered parts for sale, that's all taken care of. Now I'll just do the trigger guard; piece o cake compared to the lockwork.

This old rifle is being reconditioned to shooting status for use as an Appleseed loaner rifle. My brothers and I learned to shoot long ago with this rifle, and so it will serve that purpose again, for other families.

That's one good use of Liberty.

Is your old family 22 doing its part to transmit a hands-on appreciation for our heritage of freedom?

The old Marlin 60 is back together. A fellow Calgunner supplied the lockwork, and I supplied the trigger assembly, bolt handle, and a Williams Foolproof aperture sight. Thanks JC.

Last part will be to add sling swivels for a 1 1/4 inch GI web sling, firing test, and voila! ready to use as an Appleseed loaner target rifle.

I'll accept your "challenge". I have three old beater .22's in the safe I consider 'Buyback Fodder' -- I'd be happy to donate them to the Appleseed program.

Someone would need to refurbish them as well as handle the "paperwork".

                    The rifles:

                    Mossberg Model 152 (.22lr)
                    Sears Ted Williams Model 3T (.22 s,l,lr)
                    Glenfield Model 60 (.22lr)

                    Anyone interested?

                    Mark

                      Mfortie,
I'll volunteer to handle required paperwork. Can't have too many loaners.
They will be well used, for sure. Thanks. PM sent.

Cool pictures. I might be missing something but those sights dont look like they are only 0.005" different in height? The new one looks much taller. Ever thought about installing Tech Sights on it to improve its performance?
