    Just bought a 10/22

I just went to Sports Authority because they had the 10/22 (basic) on sale for 209. That is the cheapest I have ever seen it around here.
I will pick it up once my 11 day waiting period is up. I may try to pick it up after 10 days and see if I can educate them on how to properly count 10 days. It may not be worth the frustration though.

Anyway, I ordered a Green Mountain 18" bull barrel, Volq hammer, bolt release, and extractor. I also ordered a Hogue OM stock, a scope rail, and a Tuffer Buffer.

I forgot to get some extra mags.

Which mags feed better in the higher capacity variety?

Also, what ammo works the best? Looking to punch paper right now.

Pics to follow (in 10-11 days)

Any ammo works the best. My 10/22 eats anything, but I find that Federal Bulk is the most consistent, cheap ammo there is.

      Welcome to CalGuns.

As far as what ammo works best, .22s are famous for liking different ammo from one gun to the next.
You just have to try a bunch and see what works for you accuracy and price wise.
For basic reliability testing before you start punching paper, I suggest CCI Mini-Mags.

Over 10 round mags are a no-no unless you had them prior to the year 2000 ban.
There are lots of threads here on magazines, read through a few to see what is going on.

Ok, thanks. For some reason I thought that rimfires could still have over 10. I was mistaken.
Silly me. I forgot I was living in CA.

              Tip on Green Mountain barrel:

The green mountain bull barrel is very accurate. I have one 20" bull SS barrel
However, the chamber of the barrel will be a little tight...
sometimes, the mis-fire round won't get ejected and you might need to prepare the sand paper...
you might need to sand it a little to put into the action.....
              It's worth it !

If you're interested in the tri-mags, speak to Trob on our forum. I think he gives CGN deals for the tri-mags.

Factory mags are the way to go. I will never get tired of the crack zing that a 22lr makes. enjoy.

stay away from remington gold bullets, no matter how cheap you find them.

Yep, they can only feed 10 rounds at one time. It woulds be like taping two 10-round AR-15 mags together.

Try using a brass .22 brush with a little oil chucked it a drill. Makes the chamber very smooth.

I don't like the hogue oem stock bec it rings in my ear. I norm take off the butt plate and fill with contractor foam, u can use slicone or similar to add some weight to the back end.

There are lots of places that will re chamber the barrel. Remember to get a volc v-block to help with barrel droop. Glockworld has them on sale
