Ammo for Sako Finnfire

I just purchased a beautiful Finnfire Range from a member here and wondered for all you Finnfire owners, any suggestions on ammo? The previous owner mentioned a couple different types but I would like to try as many as I can.

Also, do you know what that side rail on the front left side of the stock is for?

Every gun is different and especially with .22 ammo. If you are looking for really good accuracy. Start with SK standard plus or wolf match. If that is not good enough. move up to Eley, Lapua, or Fiocchi. May want to try some Aguila match rifle. I've heard mixed reviews of it though.

Basically to answer your question you have to see what your gun likes.

Yes see what it likes but don't just limit yourself to the ammo listed above try some of the cheaper stuff. I have seen one that loves Remington golden bullets better than anything else.

i stay away from plated bullets. or high velocity for that matter, but for the sake of testing compare standard vs high.
one ammo I have found great for practice and reliable for 'not so important' matches
is RWS target. theres afew sites where it can be had less the $5 a box though you ought to consider buying more than 500rds to make the shipping cost worthwhile.
CCI 0035/0032 is good stuff too and can be had for less the $2.25 for 50rds.
clean between ammo for best results.
