    Colt .22LR 1911

I see that Colt has a 22lr version of the 1911 pistol available. Plain or with a rail. Too bad we'll never see them for sale here in California.

The Kimber is available and better than the Colt IMHO. I owned an Colt ACE and have shot the Kimber.

    Thanx, Russ

The Kimber rocks with high velocity ammo. When I first got it I tried match ammo and it wouldn't cycle. Luckily I re-read the manual and saw where they recommended hi-speed ammo and she's been fine.

      Kimber!

This isn't the ACE. It's one of their collaborations with Walther.

Pretty neat. I wonder how it feels. Doubtful they'll be on roster though, doesn't seem likely with a 12 round mag. If they had any intention of making it a Ca gun you would think they would have just put a 10 rounder in all of them.

Maybe not.. roster is being challenged last I heard

Good reason to donate to CGF now that I think about it (no reason needed though I suppose )

Would be nice, I'm not holding my breath, though.

Any update on "IF" this is going to be a CA legal gun or not? What would keep it out?

A Kimber rimfire is not better than a Colt Ace. The new Colt .22, on the other hand, is no Ace.

                          New Colts

The sad thing is the new Colt is not even American made, but it could still be a nice gun. I read the Kimber was out of my budget, and the Colt new 22 was in the 400 ish range? I don't think I'll find a nice old "Ace" for that and it seems that many of the 1911 - 22LR models are banned.

This .22 caliber Colt looks awfully familiar...

Saw this in the Sig Catalog, thought it looked familar: That's one way to get into the .22cal 1911 market fast...

I know that Colt's website says that theirs holds 12 rounds vs. the GSG's 10, but Colt sure looks like the GSG too. Same trigger. Same Hammer. I'd love to see the right side of the Colt's frame... How much you wanna bet there is a flat headed drift and a flat hex head bolt flanking the slide stop?

They claim that Sig is made in Germany, but I heard the Colt was from the Phillipines or Japan? Will go see where I read that on the Colt forum
