marlin 795 last round bolt hold open

I tried searching, but I couldn't find anything. After firing the last round of the magazine, the bolt won't stay locked back for my marlin 795. I'm using 40 grain blazer ammunition. I bought a new recoil spring, so maybe I have to wear down the spring? The action cycles completely with each shot, but it just fails to stay open after the last shot. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

It relies on catching the magazine follower, have you simply tried a different magazine?

yep. I have three 10 round mags and I get the same problem with all of them.

Chech the lever that the follower push, could be bent or something.
Make sure rifle is not loaded.
        Insert empty mag.
Pull bolt, while doing this check if the follower pushes the Bolt Lever Control.
If it does and the bolt will not lock then you might want to check the lever.
        Good luck.

I have a 795 and a 7000. Both sometimes lock the bolt back. Sometimes they don't. Mark

Try posting this in the Marlin forums or Rimfire Central website.

All good suggestions, if all else fails you can always call Marlin's Cust Service at 1-800-544-8892. Hope you can figure it out!
