    M&P 15-22 ammo

Hey guys I'm thinking about getting a M&P 15-22. I know your not supposed to shoot Remington and I know that CCI is recominded.
Has anyone shot the Federal Bulk ammo that they have at walmart for $18 for 550 rounds? Any issues with that ammo in the M&P 15-22??

The Federal bulk from Wally's is known to be very reliable in the 15-22, go ahead and shoot it.

+1 on bulk Fed ammo but be sure to load the mags properly -- with each round alternating in the mag to avoid FTF issues.

The Federal works great in my 15-22. It's not as accurate as Blazer and Mini Mag, but it functions 100%.

I've had one bad around out of almost 3 bricks of it. That one had a solid firing pin hit, it just didn't fire.

I guess you have to try the different brands. Mine's the opposite of what others are saying. Mine will shoot just about anything except Federals.
It really likes the cheap stuff like Blazers and Remington Thunderbolts. Winchester's 550's and 333's also work fine. Federals fail to extract about every 10th rd.

My experience with the Fed bulk is they are very reliable but not the most accurate. In my testing I've gotten just as good reliability with the Win 333/555 bulk packs but better accuracy. Its about the the same price as the Federal bulk and is also sold in Wally world. You can try CCI Blazer bulk ammo but you need to clean lead fouling out of your barrel more often because its not copper coated.

                Over 1,000 rounds through my M&P 15-22

I have shot over 1,000 rounds of bulk Walmart Federal 22 ammo through my M&P 15-22 without EVER having a missfire or jam

Near 12000 rounds of Fed 550s in less than 6 months. 1 FTF. No other issues to report.

I tried using some Walmart Federal bulk today at the range. Here is about 50 rounds @ 25 yards using a red dot on my 15-22. I had 1 FTF in about 250 rounds.

Federal bulk, 36gr CCI, vintage Stingers and the Winchester 333 pack seem to all work. The Rem golden stuff works sometimes. It has to do with the bullet shape. Put over 3000 rds thru the one we have and other than cleaning, its been really reliable.
On another note, my CMMG 16" upper won't feed 5 rds of th Rem stuff and doesn't like the CCI stuff either. From now on its the bulk Federal ammo all the way.

I just ran about 300 rounds of the Federal 550 bulk through mine and it had one FTE. Considering I was having an FTE in every magazine before (ejector issues), I would say the Fed stuff is good to go!
