Really I figured it was ok, because my 22lr bolt gun fires 22short. I thought it was the same principal. No huh?

I think the case dimensions are different. It's like asking if a 22lr can be fired in a 22 magnum which is no.

Good rule of thumb is to look on the barrel or in the manual and it will usually show what ammo can be used. All my .22s say right on the barrel, 22 Long Rifle Only.

Skunk you are Right, I didn't take accound case diameter. I went to the safe and compared the 2, the answer was clearly visable. I should have used my brain before I let my fingers run loose in a state of boredom. Thanks for the info guys
