    Calico M100 pistol .22LR

    Hey Cal Gunners,

I just wanted to see if anyone had any info on these things. Are they worth anything? Are they desireable?

It definitely has novelty, but not much else going for it. Especially since the main feature is the 100-round magazine.

It's 9mm cousin was banned by name in the Roberti-Roos list. That definitely gives it cool factor.

Mostly aluminum, pot metal and plastic, but there's no getting over the cool factor of that 100 round drum. Collectible I guess 'cause it's rare, but if I had one, I'd baby it until I was sure I could get spare parts for it.

I had one a long time ago. I loved it. It always looked funny to me, but like above posters said, never got over that hundred round helicle feed magazine. That is; until my friend and I were shooting it at the range and he over twisted it. Damn magazine broke on the spot. I ended up selling it many years ago because I thought I'd never be able to find another mag in California. Turns out you can still buy aftermarket ones. Wish I never sold it, but then again, that was way before the internet, so who knew mag kits would be readily available in Cali.

I too had one about 15 years ago, and i broke my magazine too. So I guess that would be the main downfall of them. I'd love to have another one. Way cool. Jeff

I still have my M-100 Carbine. The magazines are fragile, DO NOT WIND UP PAST 15 REVOLUTIONS!! Got lucky and have an extra mag. A blast to shoot, but a bear loading. After about round 70 it can be tedious to oberate, but a great conversation piece at the range.

Cool factor is the only advantage in a state like Commifornia. BTW I owned this for 22 years.

Actually no, I wasn't - I thought that the '94 Fed ban killed them dead. So what have they been doing from '94 to '04?

Some part will work with the older ones, and some parts wont. Newer magazine will not work properly with older models without sending your rifle in for some modifications.

They actually made spare parts during that time that you could special order through a 3rd party. Also made the big move from Nevada to Oregon

Fortunately, the magazine overhaul kit I bought worked fine with my 100 rounders. Just hoping one day they will release a speedloader for the magazines. I'm really interested in getting the fixed buttstock, but don't know what mods to the reciever is required to fit it.
