I second the AA kit. And I've verified the FTE issues to be mag related. I shaved my bags down and now my kit is as reliable as the ammo (all brands... Before it o ly ate Remington)

I like the idea of the advantage arms conversion kit. I wish to start a collection and decided to have a dedicated .22LR. I know its a good idea to practice with a service weapon but I'll continue shooting 9mm ammo with my Glock.
I rented the Sig mosquito and S&W 41. I held the Ruger Mark III, Berreta Neos and few others which didn't feel comfortable. The S&W is a pricey .22LR so I have my eye on the Sig Mosquito. I am planning on purchasing one. I watched couple videos about the right ammo to use, how to clean and lube them to keep them lasting long. Target Master sells the Mosquito two-tone with adjustable sights for $352, $30 fee, plus tax. Is this a decent deal for the Mosquito?

Since no one answered ur question after ur last post, I'll chime in. Thats actually not a bad price at all for the Sig. I have one and paid around $405 otd or something like that, so that seems right in line.

Like I said, I have a Mosquito and I actually like it. There are alot of negative and positive reviews for it from people who have/had one and people who only shot a few rounds and formed a opinion about the gun. It def. is picky with ammo, but after I polished the feed ramp and filed down the entrance to the barrel, I have not had to buy anymore CCI's, now its just Federal Bulk packs from Walmart (375 for $11.46)! Now that being said, I still am in the market for a Browning Buckmark. Although the Sig feels more like a "real" gun, the Browning's I have shot are alot more accurate and reliable. U cant have enough .22's! Also the Sig is incredibly easy to disassemble and clean!

It is good to see a Glock guy talking about 22s There are so many guns for sale here in large caliber that have 50-100 rounds down the pipe. I have only been shooting a couple of months and I have burned off better than 3000 rounds. It is a kick and not expensive.

I have both a Browning Buck Marc and the SW 41 ... If I had bit the bullet and started with the S&W that would be my only 22 right now. It eats anything but for what its worth it shoots the tightest grouping with Federal Value bricks at 18.75 for 550 (my Browning prefers CCI MiniMags at twice the price)

As for cleaning the Smith, it strips in about 5 seconds flat... no tools! The front strap pulls down, the barrel and slide come off...

I been researching on the net about field stripping, discussing the FTE/FTF issues, cleaning, the stiffer spring, ammo use and whatnot. Not sure if I want to alter the feed ramp quite yet. I have few rounds of CCI Mini-mag HP waiting to be fired. I'm ready to take on any issues I may encounter *knock on wood*
.22LR are sure getting my attention. I been looking at the S&W Mp15-22 rifle + pistol and Sig 522LR.

Thats a really good price! After I checked, I paid $365 total, not $405. Run some of the CCI's thru it and see how it feels. I just didnt want to keep buying CCI's instead of the cheaper stuff ($.06 vs .03). I know not that much of a difference, but when we go shoot, we usually go thru about 700 rounds a sitting. If it does start to act up when using anything other than CCI's (or CCI's for that matter), the altering of the feed ramp is very, very easy. Took me about 3 minutes! Have fun!

BTW, the Mp15-22 is the most fun gun I have

Anyone that says .22's are boring are just plain idiots. Im a former Marine and an avid shooter and while I love my larger calibur guns the lack of money prevents me from shooting them often and thats where the .22 comes in. I have 3 .22 pistols and 6 rifles in .22 most have a larger calibur companion in my safe and because I use my .22s all the time my skills with the larger calibur guns have improved significantly. One phrase I hear often is "trigger time is trigger time". The more you use a thing the better you will be so by being able to shoot my .22's as often as I do the better I will be when I shoot my big guns. I know there is a Glock coversion and almost all the big gun manufacturers make faux guns that are clones of big guns. Get .22's and have fun.

Don't overlook the S&W 22A. Feels like a large caliber pistol in the hand, accurate, will shoot any 22lr (at least mine does), easy to break down and clean. Seems to be a love/hate kind of pistol. Some love, some hate. Turners usually has them in stock if you want to check one out. Mine was $300 including tax and DROS. Goes bang every time, no feeding or ejection issues. Weak lind is the plastic buffer on the slide but cheap and simple to replace. About 2000 rounds thru mine and the original buffer is still good to go. Buckmark, Kimbers and Rugers are better guns but cost vs function I doubt you can beat the 22A. Just my $.02.

Where in the bay area did you find the mosquito for that price?

My current shopping/wish list is focused on 22 handguns (need a new, fun autoloader, double action revolver and single action revolver) and like the thought of the Mosquito, known finickiness and all.

Glad to see you got your rimfire. You KNOW you'll be wanting more rimfires in the future, too. They are a LOT of fun, cheap to shoot and are a terrific way to get introduce new shooters to the sport.

I think you should look into the conversion kit for your Glock as well. I have one for my Sig and it is a blast to shoot.

Its a standard Kimber Rimfire not the target one and that was at 10 meters the first day I shot it out of the box.
