I just picked one up not too long ago ($199 damnit! ) and have put about 300 or so rounds thru it. First off, it is a pain to clean all that packing grease off (and it stinks), but after about 40 minutes I got the grease off. I actually havent had any problems so far. It says to only use high velocity ammo, but I have been using the Federal bulk packs from Walmart and they seem to do ok. About 1 FTF/FTE every other mag. Havent tried CCI's in it yet. There is no load assist button in the magazine, so loading is, although not too hard, but more tedious then every other .22lr that I have. I dont know where they got the 7 pounds weight from in the user manual (which is pretty useless), but it feels alot heavier than 7 pounds! All in all it shoots straight, is actually pretty fun to shoot, and for $159 is cheap enough that if u dont really like it, u can probably sell it around what u paid for it or just keep it in the collection!

It def. is not as fun or pleasurable to shoot as my S&W 15-22, but very fun nonetheless!

Federal Bulk, Winchester Bulk are both high velocity ammos.

Yeah I know. I wrote "but" instead of "and" in the previous post. Sorry about that. Typing at 2am probably doesnt produce my best work

They are a PITA to work on. They are no more an AK than my big toe is. They can be picky when it comes to ammo. But, assuming that you already own several quality .22lrs, for a cheap plinker, they are alright. For a first .22lr, you really should get something better.

I kind of agree with this. I have had one for a couple of years, it shoots OK. The rear sight is plastic and kind of crappy. It shoots reliably enough until it gets dirty, maybe 500 rounds and then it needs to be completely taken down to clean the bolt etc.
It isn't that hard to tear down but there is a lot to remove to get it apart. Maybe 15 minutes just to get to the bolt.
Plus it really doesn't look like an AK, but it sort of feels like one. Plus no prevision for a scope mount.
For a first .22 auto I would buy a Marlin 60, new or used and never look back
