Rem model 12 shell sticks in barrel

Like the title says after I shoot a round the shell sticks in the barrel. I have tried different ammo with no luck. Sometimes the extractor will pull it out if i pull hard but other times I have to use a screwdriver or pick to pry it out. Any idea's on what I can do to solve this?

How old is it? If it has been shot a lot, the chamber may be worn and the cartridge expands more than usual.
My Model 12, that I recently restored, was made in 1921 and after cleaning 80 plus years of carbon out, it shoots great.

At one time, I owned a Remington .32 rimfire, rolling block with a worn chamber and had to use a pocket knife to extract the fired cartridge.

Mine is in that year range as well. I have no clue about its past as I have only had it a couple years and it has done it eversense. How can I tell if the chamber is worn. What do I do if it is? I have sprayed brake cleaner down the barrel and made sure its clean. Is the chamber supposed to be mirror smooth?

Try using a cartridge fired from another.22 in the chamber and see if it will eject. If it doesn't, you may have to replace the ejecter.

The ejector holds the casing and wants to pull it out but the shell pretty much just sticks in the barrel.

The firing pin actually hits the barrel when dry fired, this is normal in these old guns. The firing pin displaces metal into the chamber. This displaced metal can prevent the case from being extracted.

Do a visual check, you should be able to see where the firing pin strikes. If this diagnoses is correct, use this tool: Chamber Iron. Do not use a file to correct this.

Also, clean the chamber and clean under the extractor.
