    The S&W 22A is a fine plinker.
    Pros:
    Accurate.
Two barrel lengths are available and are easy to change.
    Light and well balanced.
    Easy to clean.
Magazines are easy to get and reasonable cost.
Mine has been reliable. I only shoot SK Pistol Match though. One brick cost one third of the pistol cost. I bought mine used.
    Its so cheap why not.

    Cons:
Little to No aftermarket support. Some factory grips options. Some support over on rimfirecentral.com.
It has a little white plastic buffer that holds the recoil rod/spring in place. This will need to be replaced not often but it is cheap and easy to get.
The rail for mounting optics is a little weird. It doesn't like integral mount, cheap red dots. The long mounts interfere with the rail support mounts where it bolts to the barrel. A little Dremel work on the dot and a slot filed in the rail and it is good to go. Dots that use two separate mounts like rifle scopes will work fine.

Get it. You'll like it. It takes about 5 seconds to field strip it for cleaning.

Watch the Turners ads. They have them at $219-229 on sale. I even saw them once for $199.

+1 on everything Slacker said. Mine shoots everything I feed it. No FT-anythings yet.
It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.

Stay away! Get a Browning, Ruger, High Standard or S&W41. I've seen many problems with S&W22s.

My dad had one for two range trips. I forget exactly what happened but, after those two trips, he decided to cut his losses.

This is a nice .22 plinking gun, quite accurate. Used Federal, Blazer, and Remington without any issues. Would recommend it.

I have had one since 1997,very accurate ,easy to clean .The plastic buffer will last along time before needing to be replaced .I have so many rounds through it the alloy frame is wearing ,but it still keeps going, and when it does give up ill get another one.For the money its hard to beat.

Oh, I'm also on my second barrel!

I have one, around 5000 rounds thru it. No complaints. More accurate than I am. Soda cans at 15 yds are dead every time. Easy field strip, easy clean, easy put back together. My little white recoil plastic thingy is still going good. For the price and an occasional plinker, don't think you can beat it. Check out rimfirecentral.com for more opinions in the S&W subforum.

I have tried my friend's 22A last sunday.
That's a nice gun but I have noticed two things:
                    1. This gun will have many FTF or FTE when you are using Winchester ammo. When I used remington golden bullet, it does better.
                    2. I think that it will have many FTF or FTE if you don't load ammo carefully

Do you guys have the similar problem?

I have used Win333, Federal 550, Federal Lighting, Federal Automatch, Aquila Centurion and Federal American Eagle in my 22a with no FTE, FTF or any other issue. Works flawlessly with all this ammo. Once I even mixed the Win333 bulk with Federal 550 bulk and no problems. Gotta keep it clean, more so than a rifle. I clean after every range trip. All ammo is High Velocity, haven't tried any subsonic yet.

Mine would only fire 3 out of the 10 when using RGB, With federals, it works great
