Browning Buck Camper

Ok guys I bit last night and put money down on a Browning Buck Camper....The anguish of picking it over a Rueger MKIII or 22/45 has been tough, but now I still wonder if I should have picked the Rueger....Also I need to do something with the front site (all black) I cant see it....Any ideas? I know both guns are great, and this has been discussed a trillion times (Trilllion the new political term)....

Do you mean the Browning Buckmark Camper?

Tru-Glow makes an interchangeable front sight system for it:

I bought my buckmark with the glow sights on them but there are tons of parts for better sights. Tatical solutions sell a target barrel with great sights for cheap

Browning sells hiviz sights that are a direct replacement for the plain black front site. They go for $40, but the kit also includes 6 glow tubes. Here's the link:

You will be happy with the browning. I know I am, and wouldn't hesitate to get another over the ruger counterpart.

That said, the next .22lr pistol I buy will either be one of the two, with the beretta neos also in consideration.

Paint the sight a bright color and buy a spare buffer. Good to go.

I have both a Buckmark Field and a Mark II Target (among a host of other 22 autoloaders) and in my hands the Browning is both more accurate and more reliable with a greater range of ammo. Congratulations on the purchase.

I have both a Buckmark and a Ruger Target- I like the Buckmark much better - it's lighter, just as accurate, feels better, trigger is easily lightened, and you can easily put a red dot or other sight on it.

Thanks everyone, I went and upgraded to the Buckmark URX 5.5 barrel....The Rear site mount on the Camper was plastic and apparently will crack if not careful when tightening the screw after cleaning...I didnt want that problem so I went for the next model up in price..which has alloy mount....Boy is my wife being kind, I guess she wants her new dog real bad....SPCA shopping around the corner...Yellow lab is what she wants...

You are going to be happy with the Browning... I is a really nicely made gun. Brownell's sells a Browning Weaver rail that is custom made for the Camper. It is a good addition and allows you to add a RedDot.

^^^^^ This! My 5.5 Target has been going strong for over 10 years. That thing has nearly cured me of buying .22lr pistols.
