Need some help with my Mark II

I have 2 Ruger Mark II's and 1 Mark I. One of the II's has never been fired and I want to keep it that way. But the other is beat to crap the bluing is coming off the grips are worn to hell and its over all just used and abused. I want to turn that Mark II into a target pistol, but it has the standard barrel on it.

So I am looking for a trigger upgrade and a replacement upper/barrel for it. Now I have seen the Volquartsen LLV Action but its over 300 with sites on it. Does anyone have one and was it worth the money? Also what else can I do I see that I have tons of options for the Trigger but don't know which way to go.

Fellow CG's please help me out.

Depends on how much $ you want to spend.

It might be better to sell the Mk II for $250 and buy a Mk III Bull Barrel (Hunter or Competition model) for $400 or so used. Then put a Volquartsen sear and trigger into it and you are set.

The MKIII is drilled and tapped for scope mount, and comes with decent iron sights too.

With Rugers, the upper is considered the receiver (i.e., the firearm) so if you buy a new upper from Volquartsen then you are in effect buying a new firearm that requires DROS and a receiving FFL.

Thanks for the link. Though "requires lathe work" makes the price jump up and I don't know any guns smiths in OC.

Not an option all 3 of the guns mean something to me I don't want to sell any of them but thanks for the advice. And I talked to Riflegear they are fine with people sending them stuff that req's a FFL.

Try gunbroker.com. I have seen new "take off" uppers on there from time to time. Last one I saw was a SS 5.5 Bull for less than $200. Then drop in some VQ parts for the trigger.
