    Phoenix Arms HP22A

I just bought one of these. Very cool little gun. Have not shot it yet. Anyone had any experience with these? Are there any ftf, fte problems with these, like in Sig Mosquitos?

There are some guys here who bought those from Turners. They have said they are good little shooters for the $$. Haven't heard anything bad about them.

I bought one from Turner's when they first went on sale there. Took it to the range only once. Put about 300 or so rounds through it. Performed flawlessly. Congrats on your purchase, you will not regret it I assure you. For a small pocket gun, it's actually pretty fun to plink with.

Seems like the magazine springs were a little too stiff the first few loads but now all is just fine.
Good gun, works fine, great value.

Had one with extended barrel kit,put over 5000 rds through it. No jams, no problems, a good little gun.

Pretty well known that the frame will crack using hyper-velocity, Stinger etc ammo. Manual says standard velocity recommended.
Phoenix will replace the cracked frame once under warranty.
I have one and it has never failed.

I have one in the nickel finish, too. Mine is incredibly reliable (for the price: $185 OTD) and has yet to have a single malfunction, except ONCE. The floorplate dropped of the bottom of the mag when I was shooting, and the spring, follower and rounds spilled out onto the floor. That was a comedy moment. On the mags defense, it was second-hand off Gunbroker. Nothing that two drops of super-glue couldn't fix. Apart from that I've had 2.5 years of trouble free shooting from my HP-22A.

I use Federal Value Pack or Remington GBs in it with any problems, but I would avoid anything hotter, like CCI Stingers, Rem Viper, Agula Super Maximum, etc.

I just checked on some of my ammo boxes and the Federal Value Pack velocity says 1260 fps, the cci mini-mag round nose is 1235 fps, and the cci mini-mag hollow-point is 1260 fps. So I'm thinking mini-mags would be okay to use?

the sig is notoriously picky. but after mini-mags, federal bulk is acutally its second favorite.
