The same one's recommended here twice-a-week since forever.

      The search button does work.

Zastava Z5, very accurate, excellent metal work, stock is OK (European Walnut but not finished well). Cost is around $300 out the door and comes with an adjustable trigger for creep and weight of pull. Made in Serbia and also sold as the Remington Model 5 and Charles Daly Superior II.

I like the Savage MK II TR in 17 HMR rather. Just a personal preference. Close range I wouldn't be much for shooting a coyote with a .22lr, but a 17 HMR I'm in I like the versatility, accuracy, and flatter line of trajectory of the 17 HMR round. I feel a bolt rimfire should, most of the time, be in 17 HMR Shhhhhhh everyone, I love .22lr also

You can still find old Mossbergs real cheap and, they shoot great! I have a 42A and a US44 which shoot as well as my Anshultz does. A good M44 can occasionally be found here for $250 or less.

I second Izzy's comments. I have 3 of the Zastavas, 2 in 22 LR and 1 in 17 HMR. They are good little guns.

The Savage MK II with the accu-trigger is simply better than its competition for the same price. If Ruger sold the thing they would be charging an extra $100.00 for it. I would easily put it up against their 77/22 which costs double...

Save your money for a Browning T-bolt. It's the ONLY bolt gun I have that is not a Savage
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero
